How to play the Around the World Math Game

The teacher would be the one with the flash cards in the middle of a circle. One student is chosen at random to be the first traveler. That person would play first and the rest of the group would sit in a circle around the teacher.

The person to start would stand behind one of the other students in the circle or stand up next to another student's desk and the teacher would show a flash card and whoever answered quicker moved on to the next person in the circle.

The teacher asks a math question (For example, "What is a prime number?"). The first student to yell out the correct answer is the winner. If the person standing wasn't quick enough to answer first they sit in the persons seat that beat them and that person is now up against the group.

If the student who is standing up wins, he or she moves to the next desk and continues to move from desk to desk until he or she is beaten by a student who is sitting down.

In that case, the students switch places and the student who was sitting down now begins to travel around the world. The first student to make it all the way around the classroom is the winner!

Most kids enjoy this math game. It is a fun math game that teaches math to kids in a fun way.
