Question: What are some fun Math Games to play with fifth graders?
For a project my algebra II class is going to the local elementary school to play with fifth graders. We need five Math Games or crafts that we can make in a few days on a low budget. They should be creative and entertaining, each lasting about ten minutes.
Answer: BOARD RACES !! kids love getting up on the board with markers and chalk and racing each other. if u have a big group do it once or twice. if it's a small group make it like a basketball tournament with winners and levels !!

Question: I don't get this math problem solving question.. Help!!?
A long distance foot race known as a marathon covers a course of about 26.2 mi. In 1984, the first time women competed in the marathon in the Olympic Games, the race was won by Joan Benoit of the United States. At one point, she was three times as far from the end of the course as she was from the starting point. How many miles had she run at that time.
Answer: I can get as far as x + y = 26.2 and x*3 = 26.2 ?? A simultaneous equation ?
