Question: Math question on dominos game?
At the end of a dominos game, all 28 pieces of a set have been placed on the table in a continuous chain, with the numbers of dots of adjacent halves of adjacent pieces matching. If one end of the chain "shows" a "three", what will the other end of the chain shows?
1) three 2) Four 3) Six
4) That will depend on how the game was played
Plz explain!! Thank you in advance
Answer: If the double three is on the end, then two dominoes with three are on that end of the chain. Threre are seven in all, the remaininng five cannot all be paired so a three must be on the other end.
If the double three is in the interior of the chain, then it is surrounded by two dominoes with threes and of the remaining four, one is on the end and two are paired and the last one is on the other end.
