Question: Please Help! I have a math puzzle that is driving me insane!?
So the other day my brother came home from school with a fun assignment from his math teacher. He called it the 1964 game. What you do is create the numbers 1-100 using the number 1, 9, 6, and 4 (in that order) you can use whatever types of functions you want, from addition, square roots, factorials, exponents, whatever... even advanced mathmatics.
I just have a few left to find.
53
69
75
85
86
88
Answer: I don't have a sqrt symbol on my keyboard so have written it sqrt
53 = 1 + (9 x 6) - sqrt 4
I'll keep coming back to this, but I don't fancy my chances of getting any further!

Question: I'm not far from achieving my life long goal of the next highest level on Answers, should I go for it or quit?
I've always wanted to make something of myself and I'm not far from getting to a really high level on Yahoo Answers but now that I'[m so close I'm beginning to ask myself "is this really the meaning of life?"
Maybe I'm just wasting my time with Yahoo Answers and maybe I should do something else for fulfillment like becoming celibate or taking up knitting or doing more suduko.
What's it all about?
I never expected this kind of response. Wow.
Good point gutbucket.
Ms. Taurus I love you, your profile, your 360, the fact that you are at level 7 and only 4% best answers. Seems to me that this is just fun for you as it is for me. Nice meeting you.
Pirate AM, are we twins?
No prodigy Rebecca, just an old fart of 65 with better things to do but escape to YA on occasion. w.otfa.org
Answer: suduko is a waste of time, knitting is ok but not very entertaining, I say go for the next level in this ultimately meaningless exercise. It is good for your ego if not your mind.
It's Sudoku (01/07/08)
