1) first work out 1% of $15.00
which is just 15/100
(per cent meaning per hundredth, so if you divide by 100 you get the amount per every hundredth)
-then you multiply by 230
15/100 x 230 =34.5, so your answer is c
2) This time 3%= 345
354/3= 118 (1%) multiply by 100 =11800 so your answer is d.
3) Hint: they have won 8/12 games. Divide to find this exact figure, then multiply by 100 to get the percentage.
4) hint: 100%=$63 dollars. Find 1% first. Multiply by 150.
5) find New price then work out the saving. (100%=$48, 48/100 will give you 1%. Multiply by 60 for amount off, which is price saved.)
